Rabbi Dovid Kaplan
In Genesis the snake persuades Eve to take from the tree of knowledge who then goes on to persuade her husband Adam to partake of the same forbidden fruit. One of the commentaries explains that this snake refers to the animal in man who tries constantly to tell him, looks good, smells good, just do it. This is the basic impulse of man who thinks, oh this is ok, it's just the animal in me, I'm nothing but an animal, just do it - but the Torah teaches us something slightly different, as Rabbi Dovid Kaplan explains in this video.
