Parshat Lech Lecha:

When you look a little closer at Abraham, mankind’s spiritual father, you will see:

Painful childlessness, fatal famine, spousal abduction, near-sacrifice of only child, a tyrant’s furnace, and all-out war.

Why did God litter the life of the man He most cherished with endless trials?

Because a challenge forces a person to muster powers he never dreamed he possessed.

God wanted Abraham’s light to shine its brightest, so He tailored his experiences to bring out his best.

We all walk by Abraham’s light. And we must learn from his experiences in moments of darkness.

If God sent you a test, hold strong and shine even brighter.
You are an Abraham-in-training.
