Lag Baomer Celebration in Crown Heights

The final preparations for the historic Siyum HaRambam HaOlami are in full swing. The NYPD is getting ready to close off Eastern Parkway for the grand event, celebrating the conclusion of the 41st cycle and the beginning of the 42nd cycle of daily Rambam study, combined with traditional Lag BaOmer festivities.

A grand Lag BaOmer event will take place in Crown Heights this year, with the Siyum HaRambam and community unity bonfire both to take place in front of 770 Eastern Parkway.

The double celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 7:30 PM and will feature superstar singer Avraham Fried.

“By Hashgocha protis, the Siyum Harambam will take place on Lag BaOmer this year,” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of the Central Lubavitch Youth Organization and Chairman of the International Siyum HaRambam. “It gives us the opportunity to unite as a community for the Siyum HaRambam celebration, which was very dear to the Rebbe.”

The Siyum will be followed by the annual community bonfire, which will be moved from its usual location on Kingston Avenue to the main thoroughfare Eastern Parkway, which will be shut down for the festive and exciting event.
