Rabbi B

They don't call him RABBI B for nothing. Rabbi B is also a Bee-Keeper, for real. He has a colony of bees on a farm near Port Perry, Ontario. He takes care of his bees and one day will enjoy their sweet honey, once they are strong enough and make more than they need for themselves. Rabbi B believes that having a relationship with the environment increases our relationship with Hashem. It allows us to appreciate the vast creations Hashem has made and gives us stronger belief that Hashem continues to take care of His creations.

There are so many lessons we can learn from the bees. Bees work selflessly for the good of the colony. Everyone has their job to do and they do it. They work together to produce the sweetest thing on Earth, honey! Rabbi B believes that if we all work the same way with one another, we could also produce something sweet, peace.

TIPS FOR EDUCATORS: There are many more lessons we can learn from bees. Try asking your child(ren) open ended questions like, "What do you like about Bees?" Lead a discussion about lessons we can take form bees, like working together, protecting our friends and serving the Queen.
Another tip to Educators would be to expose children to bees to alleviate fears they make feel towards them. Let them know that as long as they don't try to hurt the bees, the bees won't try to hurt them. If a bee is flying around them, they should close their eyes, stand still and count to ten. Most likely the bee will fly away to the next nice smelling thing, hopefully a flower.
