The three week period between the 17th of Tammuz and Tisha B'Av is referred to by our Sages as “Between the Straits,” based on the verse (Eicha [Lamentations] 1:3), “All of her enemies overtook her between the straits.” A time where Am Yisrael has suffered many tragedies including the destruction of the First and Second Temples and major events during the Holocaust. Rabbi Yaron Reuven asks a question few voice out loud, why do we cry over the fact there isn't a Beit HaMikdash?
