Who is the MaShiach? Can we tell by DNA? What about tracing the bloodline of King David? Rabbi Yaron Reuven says that DNA doesn't matter, not for telling who is MaShiach or even who is Jewish. We go by the Halacha, and Halacha is that Judaism goes by the mother (or if a person converts). And Judaism certainly doesn't go by race, as some severely misguided people have come to think. The Jewish Sages say we don't have to go looking for MaShiach or do DNA testing, we need to prepare for his arrival. Because anyone that failed to prepare, won't rejoice when he arrives. Our first step is fixing the person we see in the mirror.
