Keep On Going

Rabbi Simon Jacobson

Does your disposition limit your potential? Is your destiny dictated by your character flaws? Do your traumas define who you are? A key attribute of all healthy people is that the things that have happened to them, as well as their moods and character flaws, do not define who they are. The healthy attitude is, "I experienced it, but that is not me." When you have that attitude, you are not a victim of circumstances -- you are an active agent in shaping your destiny. Remember that there is always new hope. Even if something bad happened to you yesterday, today is a new day with new possibilities -- so keep on going.
