Rabbi B
A fun take on a Jewish classic, Rabbi B retells the story of Shlomo HaMelech (King Solomon) and the Bee.
Rabbi B made this story in connection to Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of forgiveness, but the story and its morals are timeless.
There are many lessons we can learn from this story but Rabbi B focuses on the lesson of saying 'sorry'. We can learn from the bee, that saying sorry is only one step of asking for forgiveness. The next step is to fix what it is you did. In this story, the bee not only said sorry to the King but also helped the King when he was in need. This was the bee's way of making up with the King.
We all make mistakes, everyone, and that is ok. It is really matters what you do after the mistake.
Teach your child about how people can fix mistakes. Use examples that they would understand and relate to, like spilling milk, taking a toy without asking or hurting someone. Ask them for their ideas on how we can fix mistakes.
