True equality means that we stop thinking about ourselves as separate groups, and start treating everyone as just other people.

It is from the Torah's account of creation that our sages derived the principle of equality: MAN WAS CREATED ALONE, so that nobody should be able to boast that he descends from ancestry more noble than that of his fellow. We are all children of the same father!
