ABOUT SELICHOT
Selichot are sections of verses, prayers and poems, which are recited on and before Yom Kippur (in the month of Elul and the ten days of repentance), and in public penances. At the center of the recitation of the forgiveness is the mention of the 13 measures of mercy, and its main purpose is an expression of regret and a request for forgiveness and forgiveness for transgressions.
