Both our body and soul are built from the 4 elements. The body's elements are physical elements whereas the soul's elements are spiritual. These 4 elements are Air, Fire, Water and Earth.

There four angels that escort the soul are Michael, Gavriel, Refael & Uriel. Each one comes from a different 'face' found in the chariot of G-d. On the flipside, there are also four angels from the evil side that battle the good.
