Rabbi Chaim Richman
Parashat B'Shalach 5783
Our portion of B’Shalach opens with a celebration of Redemption, featuring the unparalleled miracle of the splitting of the sea, and the inspiring and uplifting, prophetic Song of the Sea, sung by Moses and the Children of Israel. Yet immediately following these great miracles, the Children of Israel began a pattern of giving in to doubt; a downward spiral of spiritual failing. What was the cause of this crises in faith, and how can we avoid the same fate? What lessons can we learn about the nature of true and lasting faith?
The Torah portion of B'Shalach (Exodus 13 : 17 - 17 : 17) is read on 'Shabbat Shirah', - the 'Sabbath of Song' - Shevat 13, 5783 - February 4, 2023
