Rabbi Harold Sutton
In this class, the rabbi analyzed a few sources in hazzal, then the rishonim, and finally the peshat on the story of David & Batsheva. Why do hazzal try and cover up the sin? Is there even one monolithic approach to "Did David sin"? In some the illegalities seem to be justified, which accentuates the immoralities... and David's reaction as the King of Israel to the prophets parable and his own sentence, a reaction to be commended, that we haven't seen nor will see by a King of Israel.
